The corona pandemic could further spur on the subscription model – not only because companies have been giving much more importance to digitalization since the lockdown, but also because it may be worth it financially.

The corona pandemic could further spur on the subscription model – not only because companies have been giving much more importance to digitalization since the lockdown, but also because it may be worth it financially. According to the market research institute Puls, more than 50% of survey respondents said that automobile subscriptions are “becoming more important”. The flexibility of being able to simply try things out is going down well with companies. This also applies to company fleets, allowing companies to avoid long leasing terms. Jonas Wagner of the consultants Berylls Strategy Advisors says that “the need among customers for more flexible and personal mobility is generally increasing.”

 

For employees during their probationary period in particular, automobile subscriptions enable the risk of being stuck with a car to be minimized. Transparency of cost is another major advantage, as all costs – apart from refuelling –  are included in subscriptions, which removes any need to worry about insurance policies and taxes.
