Anyone involved in the supply chain of the automotive industry has to meet high standards in terms of IT security. These are tested and assessed by the VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) in accordance with TISAX®. In May 2021, nexnet passed this assessment for "Information with high protection requirements and the data protection module".
Who and what is behind the TISAX® label?
TISAX® is an acronym for Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchangeand represents standards defined by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) for maximum IT security, which are assessed as part of an assessment. These standards must be met not only by automotive manufacturers and suppliers, but also by service providers and software manufacturers.
What is the difference to ISO 27001 certification?
In contrast to TISAX®, ISO 27001 is a general standard for information security and applies across all industries and internationally. It sets requirements for a general information security management system. The TISAX® assessment, on the other hand, also examines industry-specific requirements in the automotive industry, such as prototype protection. TISAX® therefore has more requirement areas, but is not subject to an international standard.
